Beneath an endless night, civilization survives through vigilance, discipline, and strength. In the Umbral city of Mirk Dorah, ancient Houses guard their influence, soldiers watch the roads, and forgotten secrets wait beyond the safety of its walls.
Soulstone #008 carries the Moonshroud Realms beyond Orb and into the Umbral, a shadow plane of muted color, cold stone, and scattered civilizations that have learned to thrive within perpetual darkness. This volume introduces Mirk Dorah, the City of the Veil, a fortified settlement overlooking the Wallen Deep and one of the greatest strongholds on the continent of Maegathabos.
This volume expands the setting through new locations, NPCs, divine lore, magic items, character backgrounds, dungeon content, and a complete adventure exploring the dangers beyond Mirk Dorah. It details the Triad and the Great Houses that govern the city, introduces the Fallen Eternal Hestus and the divine order created in the aftermath of the Great Schism, and presents rules for Gloomblight, the oppressive planar malaise that threatens travelers who remain too long in the Umbral.
The included adventure, Vein of Shadows, sends 7th-level adventurers west from Mirk Dorah into the Shards of Ozghur, through the petrified Ba’hgral Forest, and beneath an abandoned noctirite mine whose records conceal a centuries-old mystery. Along the way, the party must contend with Umbral predators, hostile terrain, forgotten secrets, and the deadly noctarach colony now occupying the mine.
